A Snake’s Sss-shenanigans by Glen

I slithered through the grass unlike the upright type of snakes who stay inside their boxes. Hmm there might be something good in there. My previous attempts all failed but I wanted to try it. I immediately smelled food. It was made from a certain type of grass. A tall can thing silently glided across the water. How did they do that? Then it became not so silent.

A huge roar erupted like an explosion in one of the boxes. That box was weird. It was bigger, squarish, and always upright with snakes jumping in and out constantly. I changed my mind. That place would be better to find food. There was more activity and a smell of meat.

I silently slid in a crack in the door, the smell of meat overpowering my senses. I slithered to the source of the smell and saw a piece of dried pork. Pork and other meats like steak and mutton were rare and valuable. It usually takes ten of us to take one of them down, but it’s worth it.

I grabbed the pork in my mouth and when I turned around, the door slammed open and a upright snake pointed at me and shouted at me. Suddenly I didn’t feel so well. Was it the meat? I fell down and everything went black.
