Whiskers & Wonders by Bryce

I was hungry. It was ages since I had been fed. Two days or was it three days? Oh well, I can’t remember.

‘Let’s go get food,’ said my cat instincts.

So I walked to the metal vault that the humans use to store food. I pushed it with all my cat force (which is a lot) and finally got it open. I peered inside and found this weird jar made of glass. I went to it, slashed it into a million pieces, and lapped it up. After I left the vault, I started growing.

‘It was weird but it was worth it,’ I thought as I passed out.

I woke up and I was absolutely hideous! I had no hair, no claws, and two legs and absolutely no cat force. I was a human!

‘Oh no,’ my newly human mind said. ‘How am I gonna fix this?’

I went to my owner’s room and looked at a shiny reflective thing on a wall and I found a rolling wall. I found human fake hair, so I put some on. I found coloured pieces of paper and shiny disks as well, so I put them in the fake fur’s hand holes and went outside

Outside, rain was falling. How could I not have noticed?

I found a rain stopping circle and held it above my head. It was so much better, and I found a food store. I dropped my rain stopping circle and ran inside.

I pulled out the paper and discs and the shopkeeper gasped.

“You have two hundred dollars!” he said loudly. Everyone else looked at me through the windows.

“Really? How much food can I buy?” I asked.

He said, “ten of these,” and pointed to the same kind of jar that turned me into a human.

I said, “Okay,” and took them back to my owner’s house and opened one and drank it. I shrank in excruciating pain and my cat force had returned.

I was a cat again!
